Auburn walker meets with Snowe-Mello

AUGUSTA – Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello, R-Poland, met with a constituent who is taking part in the Great American Walkathon. Bill Lake of Auburn and his family met Snowe-Mello at the State House, which is Lake’s first stop in a long journey.

Lake is planning to walk to every State Capitol in the continental United States and back again, finishing where he began.

He believes the journey will take him about two years to complete. Lake will walk with most of the supplies he needs strapped to his back.

He is making the trip in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The foundation is dedicated to ensuring the development of a cure for Parkinson’s disease within this decade through an aggressively funded research agenda.
