AUBURN – The Small Business Institute at Central Maine Community College is offering a series of six workshops for small business owners. The first is “Understanding Tax and Legal Structure” (SBI 001-01) from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 26. The cost is $25.
The second in the series, “Managing Cash Flow” (SBI 005-01), will be held at the same time on Tuesday, Oct. 3, for $25. Participants may register for the entire six-part series at $99.
When starting a business, people need to select the business form to operate under and understand the tax implications for it. The workshop will provide an overview of the various options for business structures and the tax implications for each.
The “Managing Cash Flow” workshop will provide an overview of the fundamentals of cash management, including accounting methods, financial statements, managing accounts receivables and strategies for increasing cash flow.
