JAY – Plans are under way for the fourth annual basket bingo to benefit ending hunger, sponsored by the Otis Federal Credit Union.

Longaberger baskets have arrived and are ready to fill, the Farmington Elks Lodge is booked for Monday, Nov. 13, and food is being planned.

Last year proceeds helped seven food pantries: Clearwater Food Pantry, Farmington Care and Share, Hartford Food Bank, North Turner Food Bank, Phillips Shared Ministry, Tri-Town Ministerial Association and Wilton Area Food Pantry.

The credit union raised $10,243.73 for Ending Hunger throughout the year.

Cash donations to purchase baskets, which range in value from $29 to $220, are being sought; merchandise to fill baskets is needed; and gift certificates of any denomination to add to baskets or door prizes are requested..

Other items, such as sandwiches, chips, drinks, paper goods and desserts are needed, so donations of those items or monetary donations would also be appreciated.

The Ending Hunger Committee is comprised of Nancy Blodgett, Pamela Buote, Gale Durrell, Helen Goding and Roland Poirier. For more information, call 897-0900 or 1-800-848-3688 or fax 897-3927.
