PROVIDENCE – Laura Martel of Lewiston assisted on Laura Harper’s game-winner for the game’s only goal as Maine defeated No. 25 Brown 1-0.

The goal came 23 seconds into the second half. Maine (7-0-1) posted its third cpnsecutive shutout.

FARMINGTON – Liv Irons scored on a corner kick at the 13:30 mark and assisted on the game’s final goal to lead the Maine-Farmington women’s soccer team to a 3-0 win over Maine-Presque Isle.

Amber Murphy and Erin Campbell added goals for the Beavers, who won their second straight contest.

Bowdoin 3, Bates 1

BRUNSWICK – Three different players tallied goals as Bowdoin slipped past Bates to post a 3-1 triumph.

Bates (3-2) was the first to get on the board with a goal from Jessie Gargiulo off a feed by Molly Wagner. Mia Lidofsky made eight saves for Bates.

Wentworth 4, UNE 2

BIDDEFORD – Katie Brown scored an unassisted goal in the 55th minute to give Wentworth a come-from-behind 4-2 win over the University of New England.

Lewiston native Beth Melanson needed just two saves to record the victory.

Bates 2, UMF 1 (OT)

LEWISTON – Ithai Schori scored off a Duane Pelz pass 19 seconds into overtime to lift Bates to a 2-1 victory over Maine-Farmington.

Schori picked up the pass from Pelz on the right side of the penalty box and sent a low shot into the far corner of the net. Pat Grater tallied the first Bobcats (2-2) goal at 17:20.
