GRAY – Kristen Simpson scored with 5:02 remaining in regulation to lift Poland to a 1-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC field hockey action Thursday.

The Knights (1-5-1) achieved their first win when Simpson tipped the ball into the net during a scramble in front of the cage.

Goalie Bethany Haines made one save for the Patriots (0-9), while Dee Bedurra turned away nine for the Knights.

Leavitt 4, Erskine 1

TURNER – Caroline Bochtler netted a pair of goals to lead Leavitt to a 4-1 field hockey victory over Erskine .

Sarah Quimby and Megan Miller also tallied for the Hornets (6-2) to complete the scoring. Kristen Capen and Laurianne Laliberte combined for six saves.

Diana DeRocher scored the lone goal for Erskine (2-6), while Mary Middleton turned aside 17 shots in net.

Lawrence 3, Edw.Little 1

FAIRFIELD – Mallorie Blakney netted a pair of goals to pace Lawrence to a 3-1 victory over Edward Little.

Sarah Brown also tallied for the Bulldogs (4-4) to complete the scoring. Kasey McPhail made 10 saves.

The Red Eddies (3-5) got on the board first with a goal by Ally Butler. Josie Leahy contributed an assist, while Joanna Hughes turned aside 15 shots in net.

Winslow 7, Oak Hill 5

WINSLOW – Katie Irwin and Ali Kriegel drilled three goals apiece to lead Winslow to a 7-5 triumph over Oak Hill.

The Black Raiders (5-3) dominated the first half, taking a 4-1 lead at the break. Lauren Nivifor contributed a pair of assists in the winning effort.

The Raiders (1-6) came out of intermission and outscored Winslow 4-3 in the second half. Hannah Rancourt tallied three goals in the contest, while Kayla Clark provided support with three assists.

Lisbon 3, Carrabec 0

NORTH ANSON – Kirsten Fairbanks netted a pair of goals to lead Lisbon to a 3-0 victory over Carrabec.

Lisbon pounced early with two goals in the first half.

Ashley Beaulieu also scored for the Greyhounds (5-2-1). Samantha Purcell made 10 saves in net to notch the shutout.

Monmouth 2, Hall-Dale 1

MONMOUTH – Alyssa Morin scored with 3:13 remaining in the second overtime to lift Monmouth to a 2-1 victory over Hall-Dale.

Jenn Lola also tallied for the Mustangs to complete the scoring. Cortney Barrett and Brittany Rac combined for eight saves in net. The Bulldogs received their lone goal from Michelle Severance with 30:45 left in the first half.

Winthrop 3, Madison 1

MADISON – Katherine Fortin netted a pair of goals to propel Winthrop to a 3-1 victory over Madison.

Sami Stevens also tallied for the Ramblers (3-4-1), while Christine Dunn made seven saves in net.

The lone goal for the Bulldogs’ (0-6-1) came from Jessica Stewart.

with an assist from Cassie Stewart. Emily Berry handled netkeeping duties, turning aside 20 shots.

Georges Valley 1, Dirigo 0

THOMASTON – Selina Staples converted a pass from Rachel Sprague at the 13:28 mark to lift unbeaten Georges Valley to a 1-0 victory over Dirigo.

Sprague made a pass from the right wing, and Staples split the fullbacks and tucked it into the lower right corner.

Ashley Geel made 13 saves for Georges Valley (8-0).
