At the municipal building at 2 p.m. Saturday, seven buildings will be auctioned off because of their location in the floodplain.

Auctioneer Adrian Harris of Farmington is shown with Mexico resident Todd Wardwell inside the former Hanmer house. Wardwell is considering bids on one or more of the structures for salvage purposes.

The former Canton Community Church, at 191 School St., is another of the seven buildings that must be removed. The church, with its geodesic roof design, was unusual when it was built in the early 1980s, It’s been abandoned for about two years.
