FRYEBURG – The Oxford County Democrats have a number of events coming up in October. On Saturday, Oct. 7, many of the candidates will join Gov. John Baldacci in the Fryeburg Fair parade. The county Democrats are staffing the traditional Democratic Party booth throughout the fair in Expo 5.
On Thursday, Oct. 12, there will be a fundraising dinner with music and dancing at the Rumford Eagles to benefit the campaign of Wayne Gallant for sheriff. The doors will open at 4 p.m. and there will be a ham dinner and music. Tickets will be available at the door.
Donkey Tuesday will be held at the Locke Mills Legion on Tuesday, Oct. 17, with a lasagna dinner and silent auction. The hall will open at 5 p.m. for socializing and dinner at 5:45. Maine Conservation Commissioner Pat McGowan will be a guest of honor at the event, which will benefit the Oxford County Democrats.
The offices in Norway and Rumford are in full swing, with volunteers staffing and working on a variety of projects.
