SALEM – The Narrow Gauge String Band will return to the Salem Community Building at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15. The group features Gary Hall on mandolin and banjo, Lois Hall on bass fiddle and vocal, and Mike Worthley on guitar and vocal. A donation box will be located at the door, and refreshments will be on sale. The event is sponsored by the Salem Pine Tree Club.
The Salem Mt. Valley Crafters and Salem Pine Tree Club will host a craft show and demonstration from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Salem Community Building. Crafters will demonstrate and/or sell their crafts. The Pine Tree Club will have a food and puzzle sale. There will also be hot homemade doughnuts, coffee and tea in the morning as well as a lunch of hot dogs with salads and more to go around noon.
Crafters signed up to demonstrate include jewelry making, rug hooking and braiding, spinning, Swedish weaving and hand and machine quilting.
