WESTBROOK – The Maine USATF Fall Cross Country Program is slated to begin Sunday, Oct. 15 at Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook.

It’s the first of four preliminary meets to be held at various locations around the state. Entry fee is $3 and USATF registration ($12 youth, $25 adult) is required and available at all the meets.

Registration begins at 12:15 p.m., with course walks starting at 1:00. First race is set for 2:00.

Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 in each division. Participant ribbons will be given to all others. The age divisions are: 8-under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-29, 30-over up to 5-year intervals.

Age groups are determined by subtracting birth year from 2006.

State Championship is slated for Sunday, Nov. 12 at the University of Maine at Augusta. Top 20 in each age group and the top 3 clubs will advance to the Region 1 Championship to be held Nov. 19 at Queensbury, N.Y. The top 20 and top 3 clubs will then advance to the National Championship scheduled for Spokane, Wa., Dec. 9.
