Dear Sun Spots: If anyone in the area has extra pumpkins that they would like to donate, we’d love them. The Knights of Columbus Council 106 on East Avenue is having a Halloween dinner dance from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. I will be doing some carving of pumpkins and would need about a dozen of whatever I can get to decorate the hall. If anyone can help, please call me as far in advance as possible so that I can arrange to pick them up and also decorate them prior to the dance. Anyone wanting to donate pumpkins can call the dance committee chairman Leo Baillargeon at 784-0389 and make arrangements to pick them up. A buffet and dancing to Vintage will be provided at $30 a couple. Anyone wanting tickets can also call Leo by Oct. 17. Thank you for your support. And please think of us if you have those extra pumpkins. We are so ready to decorate. – Leo Baillargeon, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I am researching musical performances of Les Cloches De Corneville (The Belles of Normandy) in Lewiston/Auburn and perhaps other places in Maine for a course in Franco-American archival work. I am especially interested in obtaining a copy of the play to read, as well as any information and memorabilia on production places and dates, programs and information about Le Club Musical-Litteraire (1888-1963). Interior photos of music hall and Empire Theater would also be useful. Any help will be appreciated to help preserve this part of Franco-American history. Please call Claire Poulin in Auburn at 782-4762. – Claire Poulin, Auburn.

I need help. My beater on a waring hand mixer has broken. The mixer is still working very well. I’m 72 years old and can’t afford a new mixer. I would appreciate any help at all. Thank you very much and keep up the good you do for everyone. – No Name, Lisbon Falls.
