AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer “Introduction to QuickBooks” (CPT 059-21) from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 18 through Nov. 8. The cost of $205 includes materials.

QuickBooks is a small-business computer accounting package. Participants will learn how to set up an accounting system for a company, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, create invoices, bill customers, print checks and create financial statements. A basic understanding of Windows is recommended.

The class will be taught by Jim Boucher, who has had more than 15 years of experience in managerial accounting in manufacturing, distribution and retail corporations. He is president of Boucher Consulting based in Norway. Bouchard received an MBA from Babson College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
