AUBURN – Mountain Valley and Gardiner continued unbeaten last week in the Western Maine Football League (Grades 7-8). Gardiner blanked Lewiston 24-0, and Mt. Valley gained a forfeit win over Buckfield-Hartford-Sumner, a team that folded before the season began. Mt. Valley and Gardiner are both 6-0 and don’t play each other this season. In final regular season action this Saturday, Mt. Valley will host Poland-Minot-Mechanic Falls at 11:30 a.m. at MV Middle School. Gardiner will travel to Livermore Falls High School to take on AYS of Jay-Livermore at 7 p.m.

The Twin Cities’ rivalry will resume tonight as the Lewiston Demons (4-2) host the Auburn Recs (3-2-1) in a 6:30 game at LHS. JV game will start at 5 p.m.

On Friday, Oxford Hills will host Dirigo at 3:30 at OH Middle School. Mt. Blue received a forfeit win over B-H-S this week.

Many teams in this league are not funded by the school, but instead by recreation departments and booster clubs.
