BRUNSWICK – Friday night’s rain storm forced the postponement of the crucial Pine Tree Conference game between Lewiston and Brunswick. The game has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. tonight.

It was raining sideways when spectators arrived for the game with up-turned umbrellas. Both teams were warming up on the gridiron when lightning struck in the distance about 15 minutes before game time. Officials sent both teams off the field and waited the half-hour mandated by the Maine Principals’ Association before deciding to call the game, as conditions did not improve.

The game is critical to the PTC playoff race because both teams go in with identical 4-2 records.
