On three different occasions, Nancy Smith was invited to be a guest speaker at our Memorial Day service. She gladly accepted each time. At a special service for World War II veterans, names were read of the service men and women from Monmouth that served. This was an emotional service; her father was a veteran.

At our last Memorial Day service, on her own accord, Nancy mentioned the names of many veterans who were at the monument that day. One veteran was an Air Force World War II pilot; another was a U.S. Army soldier that served in the Philippines. In addition, a third was a Marine who was wounded in combat in Korea.

This might be just a small token of dedication but it also shows she cares very much.
