LISBON – A 25th wedding anniversary celebration was held on Sept. 2 in honor of Jim and Maureen Williams of Lisbon.

The couple renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Maurice Morin at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan.

Janessa Williams escorted her parents down the aisle, and readings were done by Dodie Vasilauskas, childhood friend of Mrs. Williams. Witnesses for the couple were longtime friends, Claude and Rolinda Marichal, and Heather Marichal was soloist for the ceremony.

A reception was held in the parish hall, where a buffet lunch and anniversary cake was served.

Three of the original attendants present were Ronald Eugley, Tim Williams and Dodie Vasilauskas.

Mrs. Williams is the former Maureen Gordon, daughter of Blanche Gordon and the late Maurice Gordon. She is employed as human resource coordinator with the Lisbon/Durham School Department.

Mr. Williams, formerly of Skowhegan, is the son of Constance Williams and the late Leslie Williams of Skowhegan. He is employed at International Paper Box Plant in Auburn.

The couple was married at the Bates College Chapel on Sept. 5, 1981.

Guests attended from Auburn, Lewiston, Skowhegan, Livermore Falls, Mechanic Falls and Lisbon.
