PARIS – Central Maine Community College at the Western Maine University and Community College Center in South Paris is offering three workshops for small business owners.

“Effective Marketing Strategies” (SBI 018-31) will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, “Financing Your Small Business” (SBI 004-31) on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and “Managing Your Small Business” (SBI 028-01) on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Each workshop will run from 9 a.m. to noon and cost $25.

With limited marketing budgets and an increasing number of marketing channels, it’s hard for a small business to decide how to best use their marketing dollars. “Effective Marketing Strategies” will explore various marketing strategies and options for low cost and no cost marketing.

“Financing Your Small Business” will cover the basics, including what a banker needs to know about a business owner and business, what funding options are available and how to choose the right funding source.

Regardless of the size of a business, it will only be as successful as the leadership of its owner. “Managing Your Small Business” will show how to use the 10 key attributes that a great leader must have and how a business owner can manage and lead a company to greatness.

The workshops will be facilitated by Van Perry. Perry is regional vice president for Northeast Bank, responsible for commercial loan development in Lewiston and Auburn. He has been in the commercial lending field for more than 16 years, with prior positions at FAME, Farm Credit of Maine and Key Bank.
