HALLOWELL – Community Mediation Services is hosting discussion groups to learn about clients’ and families’ experiences, views and preferences for receiving health care services. Participants will be asked to present their perspectives on what does and doesn’t work in how health care is delivered in Maine and what could be done to make improvements.

The information will be used by the Maine Health Access Foundation as part of a statewide, long-term project to improve health care delivery in Maine. The foundation, a nonprofit organization, is funding more than 100 discussion groups across Maine to seek public opinion about health care. The information will be used to develop new ways to better coordinate health care services in Maine.

CMS is seeking clients or family members of clients with autism spectrum disorders or learning/attention disabilities. Each participant will be asked to attend one two-hour session. Group members must reside in Kennebec, Androscoggin or Penobscot counties.

Sessions will be held the first full week of November, at times that will accommodate most schedules, at the CMS office at 49 Winthrop St. Participants will be given compensation of a gift certificate and mileage voucher, and a meal will be provided. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
