PORTLAND (AP) – Shawn Thornton scored the game-winner and Clay Wilson had a goal and two assists as the Portland Pirates won their sixth straight, 5-3 over the Binghamton Senators on Sunday.

Corey Pecker scored for the Senators midway into the first period, and Ryan Carter tied it less than three minutes later.

Binghamton took a 3-2 lead after two. Arttu Luttinen scored early in the second, before Wilson tied it at 11:20. Josh Hennessy sent the Senators ahead on the power play with 1:57 remaining in the period.

After Bjorn Melin tied it 3-3 at 2:55 of the third, Thornton put the Pirates ahead at 15:37. Drew Miller made it 5-3 when he hit an empty net with 22 seconds left.
