As of Sunday evening, Central Maine Power Co. had managed to restore electricity to all but 33 customers who lost power over the wet and blustery weekend. CMP reported 18,500 customers without power Saturday afternoon as a result of wind gusts that sent trees and branches falling.

Areas hardest hit with outages were Lewiston, Farmington, Bridgton, and Brunswick, according to CMP.

Many of the 33 customers still in the dark Sunday night were seasonal homes in the Farmington district, CMP said. Seasonal homes were the last priority for restoring electricity because many are unoccupied at this time of year.

Still, crews planned on working throughout the night until electricity was restored to all customers, the company said.
