PORTLAND (AP) – The Providence Bruins scored three goals within four minutes of the first period en route to a 7-4 victory over the Portland Pirates on Saturday night.

Pierre Parenteau notched a hat trick in Portland’s loss, while David Krejci scored twice for Providence.

The Bruins took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission on goals by Pascal Pelletier, Martins Karsums and Kris Versteeg.

The Pirates cut the deficit to one midway through the second period on goals by Zenon Konopka and Parenteau. But the Bruins quickly regained control when Petr Tenkrat tallied his first of the season. Parenteau collected his second of the night and Krejci connected for his first late in the second period.

Entering the third period with a 5-3 lead, Krejci and Jonathan Sigalet hit the net for the Bruins, while Parenteau completed his hat trick at 16:52.
