Dear Sun Spots: The students and staff at Bakerstown would like to thank all the people for their generous donations of sewing machines to our school. They are greatly appreciated. Now, we would like to know if there are any individuals who might have any fabric that they no longer have any use for and would be willing to donate to us for sewing. We have patterns and sewing machines, but lack material.

We are located at 1223 Main St., Poland, or via phone at 998-8266. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Are there any acupuncturists in Maine who accept Medicare/Medicaid patients? I am a disabled person and cannot afford this service. However, my health care professional seems to think this type of service may be helpful for my paralysis. I have left side paralysis in my hand and leg caused from two prior strokes. Thank you for any help you may afford me on this matter. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: Sun Spots believes you are referring to your MaineCare coverage, in which case you should contact Member Services to discuss what’s covered and what isn’t. You should also be able to obtain a listing of those who accept MaineCare. You may reach them via phone 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at (800) 977-6740.

Dear Sun Spots: I broke a tooth in half on my false teeth set. That half has exposed the metal holding it there. Can the metal poison me if I don’t get the tooth replaced? I called the dentist and he was busy. Thanks for your help. – No Name, No Town.
