FARMINGTON – Lead Western Maine is accepting registrations through Friday, Nov. 3, from people in Somerset, Franklin, Oxford and Piscataquis counties.

The training and support program assists community groups to transform their ideas for western Maine’s future into action. The first of six monthly sessions will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Farmington.

The sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will rotate between Farmington, Skowhegan and Rumford.

Participants will learn how to find grants and build support for their project, motivate and organize volunteers, develop an effective board or committee, communicate with the media and facilitate meetings.
