LEWISTON – “Red Hot Ways To Look and Feel Good At Menopause” will be the topic of discussion at the Wednesday, Nov. 8, meeting of Red Hot Mamas, a nationwide support group dedicated to menopause management education.

Dermatologist Dr. Peter H. Bouman will be the featured speaker. All women, their partners and family members are welcome to participate in the meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Chairmen’s Rooms on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building, located next to CMMC.

Kennel Club

SABATTUS – The Lewiston-Auburn Kennel Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Sabattus Town Hall, Route 9. On the agenda will be their 2007 and 2008 championship dog shows, adoption of bylaws amendments and other upcoming events.

Rotary speaker

AUBURN – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Ramada Inn to hear a presentation in honor of the Veterans Day holiday on Saturday.

Mac MacPeake, a member of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club since 1988 and a resident of Durham, will provide a special presentation about Veterans Day in memory and honor of all veterans. His presentation will focus on celebrating the bravery and sacrifice of all veterans, their families, friends and neighbors.

MacPeake will introduce a special guest, Roland Madore of Lewiston, who served as a rifleman in the 5th Maine Division during the battle on Iwo Jima. Madore joined the Marine Corps in 1943 at the age of 16. After being wounded in battle on Iwo Jima, Madore was decorated with the Purple Heart. He returned to his home town of Lewiston and raised a family of six children.

LEWISTON – Nor’easter Maine Chapter, M. I. Hummel Collector’s Club, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Anyone interested in Hummels are welcome as are new members. Lodge meeting

AUBURN – Ancient Brothers Lodge 178, AF and AM will meet at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner Street.

The meeting will be preceded by a turkey dinner with all the fixings at 6:30 p.m. All Masonic members are welcome.

Club program

AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston Art and Literature Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the Woman’s Literary Union.

Pianist Kate Lyczkowski will present selections by Mozart, Chopin and Bach. Lyczkowski is a Bates College student who has performed at the Bates Noonday Concerts.

Hostesses for the meeting will be Virginia Gagne, Jackie O’Donnell, Mildred Dumais and Pauline Penley.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 6 were: first, Janet Arey and Linda Leotsakos; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer, first in B; third, Cynthia and Bill Clifford, second in B, first in C; fourth, Lucille Bilodeau and Nancy Lindgren; fifth, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third in B, Helen Little and Alberta Turner; second in C, Judy Abromson and Anita Perrier.
