Holiday fair

PARIS – The annual South Paris Universalist Church fall holiday fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Good Cheer Hall, 36 Pine St. It will feature a beef stew or vegetarian stew luncheon for $5.50 with biscuit, crackers, hot beverage, relishes and dessert, which will be served by the Good Cheer members from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Take-out orders will be available for $5.50 each. Other features will include the collectibles and antiques table, homebaked foods, handiwork table with knitted mittens, sweaters and quilted items, holiday decorations and a raffle on a handmade foot stool made and caned by Dan Morse.

Church supper

WEST PARIS – The First Universalist Church will serve a chicken pie supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. The cost will be $3 for children age 11 and under and $7 for all others. Tickets will be on sale at 4:30 p.m. Continuing in the spirit of the 100th birthday year there will be a special dessert. There will be cream cakes served on pedestal plates, as they did years ago.

Sunday speaker

PARIS – Dr. Art Judge of the New Massachusetts Universalist Convention will be the worship leader on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. The sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be “Peace Is the Way.” The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins.Child care will be provided.

Program kickoff

PARIS – Oxford Hills Adult Education will hold a kickoff party for its new program, ACT, between 4 and 6 p.m. Monday Nov. 13. The Adult College Transition Program is a new service to adults who want to go to college. Those wishing will learn about career and school goals, the college process and meet other adults starting the college journey and learn about the new ACT course called “Road Map to College.” For more information, call Marianne or Jane at 743-8842, press 1.

Blood drive

BETHEL – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Gould Academy on Church Street.
