The SAD 39 board discussed administrative goals last week.

One goal is that student achievement in writing, reading and math will increase by 20 percent as measured by the Northwest Education Association language and math usage diagnostic test.

Mike Jack was hired as boys middle school basketball coach. Kate Buck was hired as middle school girls basketball coach and Julie Eastman as volunteer assistant.

Daniel Lavoie was hired as junior varsity assistant football coach. Deb Wetherell was hired as varsity cheering coach and Gillian Chabe as volunteer.

The senior class trip to Florida on April 18 was approved. Thirty students are signed up to go on the trip that will include attending a dinner, Cocoa Beach, graduation night at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.

Approval was given for the cross country skiing and backpacking trip to go ice climbing in New Hampshire on Feb. 23 to 25. The group will be camping at the Zealand Falls campsite overnight.

Canton: Buyout walk-through set

Special Projects Coordinator Diane Ray has announced the walk-through dates on five properties that will be up for auction for the flood buyouts. The walk-through for the following properties will be from 11 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

People who are interested in bidding on the houses will be encouraged to go through at this time. The properties to be auctioned are at 54 and 83 Pleasant St., and 56, 123 and 224 School St.

The houses will be open between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for inspection. The auction will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at the old Municipal Building.

Ray has also announced that there is a community center in the planning stage for the new village center. Anyone interested in being on the planning committee should contact the office for more information.
