NORWAY – As part of the national celebration of Children’s Book Week from Nov. 13 to 19, Norway Memorial Library will offer a writing workshop for students in grades three to six with poet Paul B. Janeczko from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13.

A nominee for this year’s Maine Student Book Award for “A Kick in the Head: An Everyday Guide to Poetic Forms,” poet and anthologist Janeczko has published 45 books.

His collaboration with artist Chris Raschka for “A Poke in the I: A Collection of Concrete Poems” was a New York Times Best Illustrated Book and a Publishers’ Weekly Best Book of the Year. A former high school English teacher, Janeczko has visited hundreds of schools across the country to work with young writers. He lives with his family in Hebron.

Space for the writing workshop is limited to 25 students; register by Saturday, Nov. 11, by visiting the Norway Memorial Library Children’s Department or calling 743-5308.
