BOSTON (AP) – The Boston Bruins assigned goalie Brian Finley to their AHL affiliate in Providence Sunday, after he recorded a loss last week in his debut with the team.

Finley was recalled from Providence Tuesday.

The Bruins lost 6-4 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in his first game Thursday, when he gave up two goals in relief of Tim Thomas.

Finley signed with the Bruins in July after spending four years with the Nashville Predators organization.

He has played eight games with Providence this season, with a 5-3-0 record and 3.08 goals against average.

The Bruins’ next game is Wednesday against the Capitals in Washington.
