BOSTON – Mike Trimboli had 17 points and eight assists before crumpling to the floor with 19 seconds left Monday night as Vermont coasted to a 77-63 victory over No. 14 Boston College.

Trimboli also had six rebounds, but he put a scare into his team when he slipped near midcourt and needed a trainer to help him limp off the court, favoring his right leg.

Chris Holm had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Joe Trapani had 13 points and eight boards.

Detroit 57, Maine 50

MILWAUKEE – Brandon Cotton scored 24 points and Ryvon Covile added 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead Detroit to a come-from-behind 57-50 win over Maine Monday in the first round of the CBE Classic.

Detroit (1-0) advanced to play Tuesday against the winner of the Idaho State-Marquette game Monday evening.

Phillipe Tchekane Bofia scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Jon Sheets added 12 points for Maine (0-2)

No. 11 Duke 72, Georgia Southern 48

DURHAM, N.C. – Josh McRoberts and DeMarcus Nelson each scored 16 points to lead No. 11 Duke past Georgia Southern 72-48 in the second round of the CBE Classic on Monday night.

Freshman Gerald Henderson added 13 points.
