FRYEBURG – Raymond Gushee-Frost, a Saco Valley 4-H Beef, Dairy and Sheep Club member, was recently selected as a Maine State 4-H Award winner.

Gushee-Frost, 15, is a resident of Fryeburg and attends Fryeburg Academy. He joined 4-H when he was 5 and has participated in livestock, general club projects, community service and leadership since he joined 4-H.

Gushee-Frost will represent the state and the Oxford County 4-H at National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga., later this month. The trip is a five-day learning experience with more than 1,000 4-H members from across the country. Young people who attend will take part in career-based workshops, service learning projects, tours and formal events.

Gushee-Frost has been an active 4-H member and has had success in showing market lambs, steers and heifers at fairs across New England and Maine. Gushee-Frost is active in sports, football, basketball, AAU/HS and has traveled to England, Ireland, Wales and New Zealand.

Gushee-Frost is willing to help other 4-H members and has helped teach others the details of successfully raising and showing livestock.
