Maranacook splits

READFIELD – The Maranacook Youth Hockey Pee Wee team split a pair of games in recent action. The win was a 7-0 triumph over Waterville as Ian Palmer notched a hat trick and Sam Bryant popped 2 goals. Others lighting the lamp were Alex Ingram and Zach Bessette. Assists went to Tom Pietroski and Chris Stanley (2). River Mullen goaled the shutout. Justin McCauslin tended goal for Waterville.

Down East defeated Maranacook 7-1 as Jordan Tyler registered a hat trick. William Clapp, Ben Fernald, Tristan See and Lucas Dill were the other scorers. Tyler, Parker Spear and Parker Lawson collected assists. Yannick Price-Prevot served as netminder. Chris Stanley scored the lone Maranacook goal. Mullen again donned the pads. Maranacook is now 2-1-1 on the season.

Auburn Youth League

AUBURN – The Auburn Youth Hockey Mites 2 Flames, sponsored by Yankee Balancing, went 1-1 in recent action. The Midcoast Storm nipped the Flames 5-4 as Rory McCaffery netted 2 goals. Scoring 1 each were Alexander Schultz, Katherine Orne and Joseph Bridges. Credited with assists were McCaffery and Schultz. Liam Benson collected a hat trick for Auburn. Tyler Lacascio scored the other goal. Receiving assists were Savannah Shaw (2) and Connor Samson. Jordan Ohayon tended goal for the Flames. The Storm increased its record to 4-1.

Auburn gained a weekend split by edging the Lewiston Junior Maineiacs Gray 4-3. Clifford Greco scored the eventual game-winner at 6:27 of the third period. Lacascio netted the first two goals with Isaac Webb assisting on each one. Benson tallied an unassisted goal in the second stanza. Ohayon was the winning goalie. Evan Emerson scored 2 goals for Lewiston. Cole Oulette netted the other. Eddy Turgeon and Travis Lepage drew assists. Ben Feldman donned the pads. The Flames are now 2-3-1. The Junior Maineiacs are 0-3-1.
