SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) – Adam Henrich and Daniel Corso scored during the shootout to lift the Springfield Falcons to a 3-2 American Hockey League victory over the Portland Pirates.

Henrich and Brett Skinner traded goals during the shootout, leaving the Falcons down to their final shot. Michael Leighton appeared to stop Corso’s shot, but his momentum carried both him and the puck into the net.

Karri Ramo stopped 30 shots and four of Portland’s five shootout attempts.

Clay Wilson and Zenon Konopka gave Portland a 2-1 lead.

sandwiched goals around a short-handed effort by Springfield’s David Spina as Portland took a 2-1 first period lead.

Wilson fired Simon Ferguson’s rebound past Ramo at 5:15 to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead. Spina scored an unassisted, short-handed goal 1:23 later to tie the score at 1.

Konopka then converted a pass from behind the net with three minutes remaining in the period to give Portland (11-7-0-1) a 2-1 edge.

Springfield (9-9-0-0) has won four of five games.
