Credit union aids New Beginnings

LEWISTON – Ste. Croix Regional Federal Credit Union recently donated a check for $500, along with personal care products, school supplies and other items, to New Beginnings.

New Beginnings is a nonprofit agency serving youth. Since opening its doors in 1980, New Beginnings has grown from a program providing basic shelter to an agency with a variety of community-based services meeting the needs of youth in crisis and their families.

Vicki Stuart, CEO of Ste. Croix, said, “The focus during the holiday season is on children. At the credit union, we have a special event for our Monty Moose members to celebrate with Santa, and we also have a collection box for Toys for Tots.

“But teens are often overlooked during this season. We wanted to make a difference in their lives by showing that we care about them. In fact, we recently implemented a new teen program called CU Succeed, which is designed to give teens the right financial start. What better time to acknowledge the teens in our community.”

Ste. Croix Regional Federal Credit Union, located at 1000 Lisbon St., serves residents of Androscoggin County.
