SABATTUS – Selectmen were forced Tuesday night to reschedule discussions on renewing special amusement permits for two Sabattus establishments.

The American Legion Post 135 and the Jacques Cartier Club are up for special amusement permits and liquor licenses.

Police Chief Thomas Fales Jr. was absent from the meeting and before issuing the permits the board said it wants to hear any objections he may have.

The renewals are rescheduled for the next selectmen’s meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Town Administrator Tracy Fabrizio announced during the meeting that the municipal office will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, for a staff Christmas party.
