ORONO (AP) – Junior Bernal scored 14 points and Maine rode a 27-0 run in the first half to beat University of Maine-Farmington 75-34 Thursday night.

UMF led 11-5 on three 3-pointers early in the game. But the Black Bears (5-5) responded with a 27-0 run to take control.

Bernal scored nine points in the stretch during which the Beavers went 9:25 without a point.

Kevin Reed added 13 points and Chris Bruff had 10 points and five rebounds to key a 12-0 run that gave the Black Bears a 47-18 halftime lead.

Farmington (4-4) couldn’t close the gap in the second half, trailing by as many as 41. Isaac Hutchinson led the Beavers with 13 points and six rebounds, while Josh Tanguay scored seven and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
