The Central Maine Basketball League (Boys Grades 3-4) has inaugurated a new season.

There are 4 teams in the Northern Division, Auburn-Lewiston YMCA, Dixfield, Monmouth and Turner. A total of 4 teams also comprise the Southern Division, Gardiner, Hall-Dale, Maranacook and Winthrop.

In opening action in the Northern Division, Dixfield defeated Monmouth 46-6 as Tyler Frost and Riley Robinson each netted 10 points. Noah Brown, Nick Mitchell and Keith Anderson all scored 2 for Monmouth. . . Llewlyn Jensen and Dante Brooks both collected 8 points as Auburn-Lewiston YMCA edged Turner 38-30. Koby Deschene paced Turner with 15. Mitchell Davis and Austin Anderson each added 4.

In the Southern Division, Hall-Dale squeezed out a 27-24 triumph over Maranacook. Brian Allen torched the nets for 23 points. Jason Brooks led Maranacook with 17. Cameron Brochu added 4. . . Gardiner tripped Winthrop 36-29 as Bradley Weston scored 8. Alex Lapointe and Brian Dunn added 6 apiece. Taylor Morong tallied 13 for Winthrop. Mario Meucci was next with 6.
