LISBON – BME, a nonprofit with a mission to help low-income home owners update and repair their homes making them weather tight and up-to-date. has opened a new location at the former Bradco Chair Co., 102 Lisbon St., Route 196.

The store, which opened on Dec. 14, features new and used building materials and furniture. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

BME receives donations and purchases materials from distributors, wholesalers, builders and residential donors. It carries home materials ranging from new furnaces, plumbing supplies, cabinetry, cabinet doors fronts, new and used interior and exterior doors, appliances, furniture, flooring, and miscellaneous hardware and paint.

Special pricing is available for qualifying households. Prices start at 50 percent off retail for all customers and will be adjusted according to household income and need. The goal is to build equity in clients’ homes while providing a service to those who need it the most.

BME was established in 1990 and has served thousands of clients from Lubec to Kittery. For more information, call 636-7670.
