NEW YORK – Stephon Marbury’s layup just beat the buzzer, and gave the undermanned Knicks a stunning 97-96 overtime victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night.

Two nights after a brawl with the Denver Nuggets that led to 10 ejections, New York – down to eight players because of suspensions and injuries – showed the right kind of fight. The Knicks bounced back from a dismal first quarter and knocked off the Northwest Division leaders.

Marbury had 29 points and eight assists and Jamal Crawford added 18 points – all after halftime.

Nuggets 117, Wizards 108

DENVER – With their leading scorer starting a 15-game suspension, the Nuggets nearly blew a huge lead but held on to beat the Washington Wizards 117-108 win over the Wizards.

Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith and Nene were all suspended earlier in the day for their roles in a brawl against the New York Knicks on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.

Earl Boykins had a season-high 29 points – including 15 in the fourth quarter – and Marcus Camby grabbed 17 rebounds and scored a season-high 25 points.

Nets 105, Warriors 97

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Jason Kidd recorded his 81st career triple-double, Nenad Krstic had 26 points and the New Jersey Nets beat the Golden State Warriors 105-97.

Kidd finished with 10 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds and the Nets broke a two-game losing streak, winning for the fifth time in 16 games.

Heat 101, Hornets 99

MIAMI – Dwyane Wade scored 29 points and hit a fadeaway shot with 1.3 seconds left, capping a furious rally to lift the Miami Heat to a 101-99 win against the New Orleans Hornets.

Wade, playing his second game after missing two contests last week following oral surgery, pumped in 13 points in the fourth quarter as Miami rallied from a double-digit deficit.

Grizzlies 134, SuperSonics 126

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Rudy Gay scored 17 points, including six in the second overtime period, and the Memphis Grizzlies snapped a six-game losing streak with a 134-126 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.

Mike Miller had 29 points, while Chucky Atkins finished with 28. Atkins’ 30-footer at the end of the first overtime period tied the game at 115. Officials reviewed the shot before ruling it good. Pau Gasol scored 15 points in 21 minutes of play.
