SALEM – Kaylie DeMillo had a solid offensive performance with a game-high 23 points to lead Jay to a 57-40 win over Mt. Abram in a girls’ matchup Tuesday.

DeMillo downed five 3-pointers en route to her 23 total points. Brianna Beisaw added 15 for the Tigers (3-1) win. Jay held a commanding 41-19 lead at half.

Jennifer Thomas notched 16 points, while Brittany York contributed 11 for Mt. Abram (2-2).

Dirigo 48, Hall-Dale 29

DIXFIELD – Megan Russell had nine points and six steals as Dirigo posted a 48-29 win over Hall-Dale in girls’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

Nikki Kaulback and Katherine Gagne each added eight points a piece for the Cougars (4-0). Dirigo’s defense was solid throughout the contest, racking up a total of 26 steals.

The Hall-Dale (1-2) effort was paced by Brittany Olsen with a game-high 11 points.

Lisbon 43, Boothbay 41

BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Emily Moore sank a pair of free-throws with 1.5 seconds remaining in the game as Lisbon eked out its first win of the season, a 43-41 victory over Boothbay in MVC girls’ basketball.

Rene Moore led the Greyhounds (1-2) with 13 points, and Emily Moore finished the game with eight points.

Heather Parry also had eight points for Lisbon, which saw a 10-point lead disappear in the third quarter.

Ali Hartley had 14 points for the Seahawks (1-2), including a pair of 3-pointers. Joyce Chajen chipped in with 10 points for Boothbay.

Erskine 45, Lewiston 39

SOUTH CHINA – Amy Fredrikson tossed in 14 points as Erskine upended Lewiston 45-39 in girls’ basketball.

The win was the first of the season for the Eagles (1-3), who got field goals from six different players in the third quarter to open up a double-digit advantage. Ericka Malley scored eight points for Erskine, with two baskets from behind the 3-point line.

Danielle Willey scored 12 points to pace the Blue Devils (0-4). Ashley Labonte added 10 points.

Mountain Valley 57, Carrabec 40

NORTH ANSON – Tanya Martin poured in 16 points to lead Mountain Valley to a 57-40 win over Carrabec in girls’ basketball Tuesday.

Taylor Smith added 12 points to the Falcons’ (2-1) win.

The Cobras (0-4) were led by Tiffany Gurney with 16 points, nine rebounds, and four steals. Kari Partridge contributed five points, eight rebounds, and two steals in the losing cause as well.

Georges Valley 52, Livermore Falls 50

LIVERMORE FALLS – Despite three attempts to tie the game with just eight seconds left in regulation, the Livermore Falls squad was edged by Georges Valley 52-50 Tuesday night in a nail-biting MVC girls’ matchup.

The Andies (3-1) missed free-throw opportunities and fell just shy of a chance in overtime. Sam Buchanan led all scorers with 27 points for Georges Valley (2-2), while Mallory Miller contributed with nine.

The Andies were paced by Rachel Ventrella with a strong 17-point effort, while Caryn Howell tallied 14.

G-NG 58, Poland 34

POLAND – Olivia Ryan poured in 19 points Tuesday to propel Gray-New Gloucester to a 58-34 victory over Poland in another WMC girls’ matchup.

Jen Frynaz chipped in for the Patriots (4-0) with 16 points, while Chelsea Durgin added 13.

The Knights (1-4) were paced by Jen Dionne and Kathryn Hall with nine points apiece, while Paige Piper added seven. Gray-New Gloucester held a 28-17 advantage at the half and was never challenged.
