LEWISTON – “Tai Chi and Qigong for Cancer” will be the topic of a Cancer Wellness and Support Group presentation set for Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Ian Gamble, owner and senior instructor at Portland-based Full Circle Synergy, will discuss the beneficial effects of tai chi and qigong for a variety of chronic and acute ailments, including cancer. His presentation will offer participants some take-home techniques that can provide immediate benefits, including enhanced relaxation and energy.

Gamble has practiced the ancient martial and healing arts of tai chi and qigong for more than 20 years and has been teaching full-time for more than 12 years, including nine in the Lewiston-Auburn area. Full Circle Synergy is the largest center of tai chi and qigong in Northern New England.

The program will be offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Conference Room I in the 12 High Street Medical Office Building adjacent to CMMC.

The CMMC Cancer Wellness and Support Group is open to people living with cancer, as well as their spouses/partners, family members and caregivers. There is no fee for participation.
