DIXFIELD – Mike Holmquist garnered 18 points, seven steals and six rebounds to lead unbeaten Dirigo to a 93-26 rout of Lisbon.

The Cougars (6-0) pounced to a 50-17 first-half lead. Josh Daley contributed an additional 15 points and six assists for Dirigo.

Tim Roy recorded a team-high 10 points for the Greyhounds (0-6).

Brewer 61, Lewiston 48

BREWER – Ryan Babon scored 21 points to lead Brewer to a 61-48 victory over Lewiston in KVAC boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Blue Devils (2-5) jumped out to a 22-14 lead in the first quarter, but found themselves down 37-31 at the break.

Lewiston senior guard Abdinassir Abdi recorded a team-high 17 points, including four 3-pointers.

Sophomore guard Jarrid Palmer also hit four 3-pointers en route to 16 points.

Monmouth 49, Jay 45

MONMOUTH – Ronnie Hobson and Dylan Reny poured in 15 points each, and Tyler Somerville added 10 to lead Monmouth to a 49-45 win over Jay.

Jay’s Trevor McCourt led all players, with 21 points. Nick Bourassa had eight and Chewy Schmidt and Austin Clark each had six for the Tigers.

Geo. Valley 74, Telstar 47

BETHEL – Junior forward Brandon Staples drained 21 points to lead Georges Valley to a commanding 74-47 victory over Telstar in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Buccaneers (4-2) executed an effective 1-2-2 press in the opening quarter and took a 33-24 lead at the half. Senior guard Nate Frisbee contributed 16 points for Georges Valley.

Senior guard Louis Thornton recorded a team-high 12 points, while guard James Kimball pitched in with 10 points.
