MONMOUTH – Ronnie Hobson and Dylan Reny poured in 15 pointseach and Tyler Somerville added 10 to lead Monmouth to a 49-45 win over Jay in a hard-fought MVC battle Saturday.
The Mustangs (2-4) used tight defense and held off a strong Jay charge to take control of the game in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers (2-5) 20-9 in the final paeriod.
Trevor McCourt led Jay, and all players, with 21 points. Nick Bourassa had eight and Chewy Schmidt and Austin Clark each had six for the Tigers.
