DALLAS (AP) – Joe Thornton scored his 200th career goal and added two assists to help the San Jose Sharks snap a three-game losing streak by bouncing back from their most lopsided defeat of the season with a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Sunday night.

Joe Pavelski, Jonathan Cheechoo and Patrick Marleau joined Thornton with first-period goals for the Sharks, victims of an 8-0 rout on Saturday night against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Vesa Toskala made 21 saves for the Sharks, who have 52 points, two more than the Stars, for second place in the Pacific Division.

Sergei Zubov and Niklas Hagman scored for the injury-depleted Stars, who had won four of their previous five.
