LACONIA, N.H. (AP) – Conservationists in the Lakes Region are inviting the public to start thinking about the future of land development.

The New Hampshire Audubon is hosting a year long series of programs on “Smart Growth” at its Prescott Farm Center in Laconia.

Each session is free to attend. Topics will cover different aspects of accommodating growth and development while maintaining community character. They also will touch on the environment with sessions on developing green buildings and the effect of climate change on northern New Hampshire’s economy.
