Info meeting

NORWAY – A Norway-Paris after-school programs nonprofit informational meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Guy E. Rowe Elementary School library. Child care and snacks will be provided.

Library speaker

WOODSTOCK – Edwin Howe of Bryant Pond will be the guest speaker at the Whitman Memorial Library at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11. Howe will speak about and show slides of Mainers fighting fires in western states. The program is open to the public free and light refreshments will be served.

Chamber speaker

BETHEL – John Melrose, former commissioner of the Maine Department of Transportation, will speak at the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce Wednesday, Jan. 17, networking breakfast to be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Bethel Inn Resort. Melrose is also a representative of the Maine Better Transportation Association.

Anyone interested in learning about the newly formed Maine Transportation Funding Coalition is welcome to attend, although an RSVP is required by calling the chamber office at 824-2282 no later than Tuesday, Jan. 16. A buffet breakfast will be served and the $8 fee will be collected at the door.
