WEST PARIS – Colleen G. Stanley, 86, formerly of Mexico for many years, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Ledgeview Living Center.

She was born in Driggs, Idaho, on March 17, 1920, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Holden) Cole and a high school graduate of the Los Angeles school system.

She was a member of the Mexico First Baptist Church and of the “WOW’S.”

For many years, she had worked for the McQuade Insurance Agency, Bradeen Insurance Agency, and then for the Maine Department of Health & Human Services until retirement.

She was married in Santa Ana, Calif., on July 2, 1938, to the late Lawrence Mason Stanley, who died in Rumford, on Jan. 5, 1972.

Survivors include a son, Lee Stanley, and wife, Nancy, of Gorham; a daughter, Linda Stanley of Bayside, N.Y.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Mija of Nashua, N.H. and Chris and Lee Stanley Jr. of Gorham;

She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Stanley on Oct. 25, 2006.
