RANGELEY – David Jensen scored his 1,000th career point to help Rangeley defeat Greenville 62-38 in Western Class D boys’ basketball action Friday night.

Jensen popped in 11 of his game-high 25 points in a 24-point second quarter to stake the home team to a 36-23 lead at the break. Early in the third quarter, his 7-foot baseline jumper gave him the career milestone. Zeke Hall added 12 points for Rangeley (3-3).

Drei Wordman led Greenville (2-5) scorers with 11 points.

Edward Little 58, Mt. Ararat 50

TOPSHAM – Senior forward Troy Barnies dumped in a game-high 23 points to lead undefeated Edward Little to a 58-50 KVAC boys’ basketball victory Friday over Mt. Ararat.

Trailing 21-20 at halftime, the Red Eddies made some adjustments and got better offensive looks, taking a four-point lead into the fourth quarter and holding off the Eagles. Travis Barnies poured in 12 points, while Eric Prue added nine, including a 3-pointer for the Red Eddies (8-0).

Shawn Dostie led Mt. Ararat with 14 points and Aaron Lever chipped in with 10.

Gardiner 61, Lewiston 59

LEWISTON – Gardiner rallied from a four-point deficit in the fourth quarter to hurdle Lewiston for a 61-59 KVAC victory.

Sean McNally scored 14 points to lead the Tigers (4-5), while Alex Nivus, Eric Goodwin and Mike Lavallee each added 13. Jarrid Palmer posted a game-high 17 points for Lewiston (2-7).

The Blue Devils bounced back from a 31-28 halftime deficit to lead 44-40 after the third quarter.

They also had a chance to tie or win the game at the end of regulation but committed a turnover. Eddie West added 14 points for Lewiston.

Monmouth 63, Lisbon 35

LISBON FALLS – Nate Armstrong and Dylan Reny each scored eight points during a 24-point first quarter to send Monmouth to a 63-35 boys’ basketball win over Lisbon.

Reny connected for five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 18 points, while Armstrong nailed three 3-pointers and scored 13 for the Mustangs (4-4).

Zach Moan tossed in 14 points for the Greyhounds (0-8), while Tim Roy added 10. Steve Michaud chipped in with 10 rebounds.

Liv. Falls 56, Madison 29

LIVERMORE FALLS – Zach Keene scored 12 points and dished out 10 assists to steer Livermore Falls past Madison, 56-29, in an MVC clash.

Mike Durrell led the Andies (5-3) with 14 points. Brian Castonguay complemented Durrell in the paint with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Simon Elias led the Bulldogs with nine points.

Yarmouth 60, Poland 48

POLAND – Yarmouth outscored Poland 15-8 in the second quarter and held on in the second half for a 60-48 victory in boys’ WMC basketball action.

Joe Dillworth led all scorers with 23 points for Yarmouth (5-2), while Johnny Murphy added 15 points and six rebounds. Senior Tyler Merchant paced the Knights (3-5) with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Joe Douglass added nine for Poland in a losing effort.

Mt. Abram 60, Carrabec 34

NORTH ANSON – Seniors Chris Smith and Wyatt Johnson combined for 26 points to lead Mt. Abram to a convincing 60-34 victory over Carrabec.

Ten different players entered the scoring column for the Roadrunners (3-6). Alex Myers paced the Cobras (1-7) with eight points.

Valley 55, Buckfield 46, OT

BUCKFIELD – Buckfield forced 18 second-half turnovers and erased a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to foce overtime, only to run out of gas in the extra frame in a 55-46 loss to Valley in boys’ basketball.

Curtis Miller led all scorers with 23 points, including three 3-pointers for Valley (5-3), while Stefan Staples added 14. John Condon led Buckfield with 18 points and nine rebounds. Zach Cowett chipped in with eight points and hauled down 11 rebounds. Senior Jamie Henderson also had 12 points and 10 assists in the loss for Buckfield (2-3).

St. Dom’s 54, OOB 53

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Junior Billy Colasante had 15 points, including 3 3-pointers, as St. Dom’s held off a late rally to edge Old Orchard 54-53 in boys’ basketball.

Austin Fuller added 10 points, while Joe Bonneau added eight for the Saints (5-2).

Joe Mokarzel and Josh Bouffard combined for 21 points to lead the Seagulls (1-6).
