To those seeking information on the 2007 Winter Meals at Jillson’s on Jordan Bridge Road in Sabattus to benefit Loaves & Fishes and the Local Food Pantry, here is a schedule.

A bean supper will be held Jan. 19; pasta supper on Feb. 16 and buffet supper on March 16. All suppers are from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Donations are $5 in advance or $6 at the door. The proceeds will be matched in the agency’s account at the Good Shepherd Food-Bank.

Advance tickets may be purchased from Sister Lucille at the Dominican Sisters’ Convent, 61 Lisbon Road, Sabattus, or via phone at 375-8399. You can also contact food coordinator Ellie Brown at 375-4747.

Dear Sun Spots: Can you please find out for me, the fat and sugar content of Dunkin’ Donuts smoothies, Starbucks’ flavored coffees and McDonald’s flavored coffee? Thanks. – No Name, No Town.

You don’t specify which particular smoothie or flavored coffees and there is quite a variety out there in Cyberland. You might consider checking out which offers a huge list of many other brand name foods, including desserts, sandwiches, sauces and more along with their nutritional values. According to the site, their database holds nutritional information for over 50,000 American generic and brand name foods (including over 260 fast-food chains). There is a wide range of nutrient data and information available including calorie count charts, fat content, fiber content, protein content and much, much more. Believe me, Sun Spots will be checking this site frequently. It’s a wonderful resource for those of you on the go and still trying to maintain a healthy way of living and eating. It’ll sure change your perception of what’s in that cookie or cup of coffee! In addition, they update their site daily so you’ll also be current on new products and their nutrition.

Ingredients: 1 cup mineral water, 1/2 cup yogurt, plain, 1 teaspoon instant coffee, 1 teaspoon sugar equivalent (artificial sweetener), 1 teaspoon sugar, 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon, 6 ice cubes. Method: Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in blender container. Process, adding ice cubes 1 at a time, until smooth. Serve immediately. Calories 44, fat 2 g, carbs 5 g, sodium 26 mg, fiber 0g.

Dear Sun Spots: Christmas has gone by and I hope you haven’t thrown away your cards!
