COUNTING: The economy during President Bush’s tenure has generated millions fewer jobs than under Presidents Clinton and Reagan.
DOWNS AND UPS: New jobs decreased in 2001 and 2002 but have been increasing since then.
BLAME THE BOOMERS: Economists say the decrease is partly due to baby boomers retiring without enough young people to take their places. Also, fewer women are filling new jobs.
