PARIS – The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two unregistered sex offenders who may be in the county, Lt. Hart Daley said.

Daniel Snyder, 40, is a lifetime sex offender registrant in Massachusetts, and police believe he has moved to Maine. The last address he gave police is 25 High St. in Buckfield, which does not exist, Daley said, and area post offices have no record of him.

“He could be anywhere in Maine,” Daley said.

Snyder also has prior addresses in Ohio, Daley said, so he could be there.

Snyder faces an arrest warrant from Somerset County charging terrorizing, and another warrant pending in Oxford County on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

Snyder was convicted and incarcerated in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, on three counts of rape and one count of child abuse. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison on May 23, 1989.

Daley said Snyder was paroled in August 1990, but it was revoked three months later. He was again paroled in November 1992, and it was revoked the next month. Again, he was paroled in February 1996, and it was revoked in October 1996. He was released from prison on June 23, 1999.

Police are having trouble catching him because he has alias Social Security numbers, Daley said.

Records show Snyder is about 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, has natural black hair that could be dyed blond, and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his left forearm with the name “Jenne” and two hearts tattooed on his left bicep.

Stephen Heath, 50, last gave his address as a post office box in Roxbury.

A lifetime registrant, he moved from Oregon to Maine in 2005 and never registered, Daley said.

Heath was convicted April 25, 1990, of Class A sodomy in Lane County, Oregon, Daley said. He served 37 months in prison.

He notified Oregon officials that he was moving to Maine and changed his information on his driver’s license, but never returned the paperwork to register as a sex offender here, Daley said.

He was arrested last Oct. 3 in Kittery for failure to register, Daley said. He made bail, had five days to register before another warrant was put out, but still never filed the paperwork.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office has a warrant for his arrest.

Heath is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs about 230 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
