BOSTON (AP) – Corey Lowe scored 17 points to help Boston University snap a six-game losing streak with a 65-63 America East victory over Maine on Tuesday night.

Lowe also had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Kevin Reed scored 29 points for Maine and saw his last-second 65-foot shot hit the rim to close out Maine’s fifth straight loss.

Reed had 18 points in the second half, scoring 13 in a row.

Tyler Morris hit back-to-back 3-pointers to break a 45-45 tie and put BU (4-10, 1-1) ahead to stay with 12:22 left.

The Terriers, winning for the first time in five home games this season, built a 10-point lead with 9:47 remaining, but the Black Bears (5-10, 0-3) wouldn’t go away.

BU missed the first of two one-and-ones in the final 27 seconds, giving Maine a chance.

Brian Macon hit 1-of-2 at the line with two seconds left, missing the second. Reed then fired up the last shot, which almost went in.

Omari Peterkin and Scott Brittain each had 13 points and six rebounds for BU, Morris had 11 points.
